Nervous system - it must strengthen itself to withstand the vibrations of the spiritual world
You all know how a squash grows, hanging from a stem so slender that it can easily be broken when the fruit is small. But as the fruit grows heavier the stem gets stronger until, one day, it is able to bear a weight of many pounds. Well, the same phenomenon happens with the disciples in an Initiatic School. ‘How can you compare us to squash?’ you say. Do not be insulted, it is simply an image—try to understand. As you come to receive the extremely intense currents and vibrations of the spiritual world, something grows within you and enables you to withstand that intensity. But this can happen only progressively. People who want to learn and experience everything in a rush and develop all their spiritual faculties at once expose themselves to serious danger, madness or even death. You must go about it gently, patiently and regularly. In this way, your nervous system will grow stronger and become capable of withstanding any amount of psychic strain.
