Subconscious - comparable to the depths of the ocean, an abyss

It is dangerous for people to plunge into the depths of the subconscious if they have not first worked to forge a strong bond with the divine centre within them, which is their higher Self. The subconscious is comparable to the depths of the ocean, an abyss. Imagine if you had to go down into the depths of the ocean, all alone and without lights or protection or experience of any kind. You would be terrified to have to make your way among the seaweed, animals and scary-looking sea-monsters. Well, this is what the subconscious is, and it is very dangerous to venture into it without first making sure you are firmly anchored to the divine centre of light and strength within you. This is why, even if psychoanalysis can give good results when practised by competent people with high moral standards, it is still a very risky method, and its widespread use is a great danger to human beings.*
