Fire - understanding the importance of gathering around it
When we gather around a fire, the fire becomes the centre of the group and it is toward this symbolic centre of light, warmth and life that we must direct our thoughts and prayers. We come together in the fire: our soul and our thoughts meet in the fire provided we are aware and understand the importance of such a meeting, of such a ceremony. Why are we gathered around a fire? To give ‘flesh and blood’ to a divine idea by enfolding it in our love, and giving it the elements it needs to become material reality. We must do everything in our power to ensure that our friends in the invisible world find an abundance of this matter within us, which they can use to wrap the child that is to be born: the kingdom of God.*
