Because initiation in the past was reserved for an elite, a moral elite, many people imagine that extraordinary mysteries were revealed to them. No, initiation was reserved only for a few, not because it involved secrets which the masses must not be told, but because those who received these revelations possessed certain qualities which enabled them to truly benefit from them. Spiritual truths enrich only those with the intelligence to understand how to use them, whose hearts truly yearn for them, and above all, who have the will and tenacity to persevere in the work. To others they are of no use, and they can even be harmful. Therefore, it is not what is revealed in an initiatic school that is important, but what you yourself will do with these truths.
